Revista - Smallbone unveils Kelly Hoppen Collection
Interior design company Smallbone of Devizes has unveiled its new Kelly Hoppen-designed contemporary kitchen at its Knightsbridge showroom.
As Kelly herself says: ‘Having designed so many homes, I knew what I wanted in a kitchen. As the hub of the home and the most important room in the house, a kitchen can be the hardest to get right so I wanted to give people something with depth and interest, that they could make their own, yet gives them some guidelines and help to create a stunning look. I created a palette of colours and textures that can be layered, so it doesn’t look ‘hard’ and functional. Whether you go with one look or combine textures it all works, whether you like an urban, cool edgy feel or a softer, lighter tone. The expertise and technical detail of the team at Smallbone have made my ambitions reality and it has been a pleasure to work with them.’
The kitchen boasts a variety of textures and exotic materials, including textured oak, pure gloss lacquer, chain mail, honed black Indian granite and Bianco Carrara delicately veined marble.
It also features painted basketwork, polished nickel, stainless steel, silver leafed mirror glass, handmade recycled cullet glass with mirror backing and Silestone with a leather finish.
The celebrated British designer, who won an MBE in 2009, created the kitchen as the first in a long-term collaboration with Smallbone of Devizes.
Ms Hoppen said: “Having designed so many homes, I knew what I wanted in a kitchen. Firstly, to work with the best craftspeople, namely Smallbone of Devizes.
