What? 'Visiona 1970: Revisiting the Future'

In 1970, German chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer AG commissioned the Danish designer Verner Panton to create the interior landscape Visiona 2. It is one of the most radical visions of the future ever created, in which Panton developed a domestic environment composed of colourful, modular upholstery elements, reflecting the informal, relaxed attitudes and lifestyles of the time. Verner Panton was a master of the fluid, futuristic style of the 1960's. The opportunity to experience one of his most immersive environments is an opportunity not to be missed!

When? Now, until 6th April 2014.
Vintage: Design with a history, looks at the aura and the quality emanated by original vintage pieces from the world of furniture, product design and fashion as well as highlighting how new designer products introduce flaws to appear vintage. The exhibition highlights the recent phenomenon in which people value more a second hand, used product rather than a brand new one. Following the world's recent fast technological progress we now see a greater appreciation for all things vintage.

The Emerging Designer Competition celebrates the exciting future of Canadian design. More than 80 creatives from fashion, product design, architecture, interior design, industrial design and graphic design submitted work to a jury that included Douglas Coupland, Heather Reisman and Marcel Wanders. The competition exhibition showcases a variety of creative and successfully resolved designs and it's both exciting and inspiring to see such a forward thinking new generation of creatives coming through.
